Health Insurance
Exploring health coverage for 2027? Health insurance shouldn't feel like deciphering a different language every enrollment. We translate networks, deductibles, and formularies into plain terms so you can choose with confidence — and reach a real human when you have questions.
2027 Enrollment Season
2027 Open Enrollment on the federal Marketplace begins November 1, 2026. State-based Marketplaces may use different dates — we'll confirm yours.
Health coverage should make sense.
Health insurance helps pay for medical care — doctor visits, hospital stays, prescriptions, preventive services, and more — in exchange for a monthly premium. Understanding how the pieces fit together is the difference between choosing a plan and choosing the right plan.
Premiums, deductibles, and copays
Your premium is what you pay to keep the plan active, usually monthly. A deductible is what you pay out of pocket for covered care before the plan begins to share costs. A copay is a fixed fee for a specific service, like a doctor visit. Knowing how these three interact tells you what care actually costs you.
Out-of-pocket maximums
Most plans cap the total you'd pay in a year for covered, in-network care. Once you reach that out-of-pocket maximum, the plan pays 100% of covered services. It's the ceiling on your financial risk — and one of the most important numbers on any plan.
Provider networks
A network is the group of doctors, hospitals, and pharmacies a plan contracts with. Staying in-network usually costs less; going out-of-network can cost far more or not be covered at all. We help verify your providers are in-network before you commit, where that information is available.
Prescription drug coverage
Each plan maintains a formulary — a list of covered medications grouped into cost tiers. A drug that's affordable on one plan may be expensive on another. We review your medications against each plan's formulary so there are no surprises at the pharmacy.
Open and Special Enrollment
Individual major-medical plans enroll primarily during the annual Open Enrollment Period. Outside that window, a qualifying life event — marriage, a move, losing other coverage, a new dependent — may open a Special Enrollment Period. We confirm your timing and eligibility before you apply.

Look beyond the monthly premium. The right plan balances premium, deductible, copays, out-of-pocket maximum, your providers' networks, and how your medications are covered. We walk through each with you so the plan you choose fits how you actually use care.
It depends on the plan's network. We verify your providers against each carrier's network before you commit, where that information is available — so a plan change doesn't quietly cost you the doctor you trust.
Your premium is what you pay monthly to keep the plan. Your deductible is what you pay out of pocket for covered care before the plan starts sharing costs. A low premium often comes with a higher deductible — the trade-off matters more than either number alone.
Outside of special circumstances, individual major-medical plans enroll during the annual Open Enrollment Period. Qualifying life events may open a Special Enrollment Period — we'll check your eligibility and timing before you apply.
Yes — marketplace guidance is its own service. See our ACA Marketplace page for enrollment-window and premium-tax-credit details. We help you estimate potential assistance; the Marketplace makes the final determination.
It caps the total you'd pay in a plan year for covered, in-network care. Once you reach it, the plan pays 100% of covered services. It's the ceiling on your financial risk in a bad year — and a number worth knowing before you choose.
We translate plan documents into plain terms, verify networks and formularies, estimate total out-of-pocket costs (not just premiums), and stay reachable after you enroll. You get a named advisor — not a queue — when questions come up.
